Cinthia Fabretti, DVM
As a child, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was invariably the same - “a doctor of dogs". Truth be said, at the same age I had my ballerina phase. Later on, I considered pursuing Foreign Language Studies, which was an interest of mine. But, my heart was anchored in my love for animals and Veterinary Medicine ended up being my choice for life.
I am a general practitioner with more than 25 years of experience and have practiced Veterinary Medicine on 3 different continents. I earned my veterinary degree from the prestigious Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Southern Brazil and took a 2-year rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery from the Tierartzliche Hochschule Hannover in Germany. Since then, I have worked in a diverse environment that includes private practices, emergency settings, referral diagnostic centers, veterinary hospitals, and a wildlife rehab center.
I am a USDA-APHIS accredited veterinarian, a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association (HSVMA), the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB), and the Maryland Wildlife Rehabilitators Association (MWRA). In addition, I consult and volunteer at the Second Chance Wildlife Center (SCWC) in Gaithersburg, MD.
